Merger Corner
(March 7)

The Mission Statement Committee slightly revised a version of the mission statement for the new Parish of the Holy Cross that was presented to parishioners last fall.
The new version is as follows:

“The Mission of the Parish of the Holy Cross is to serve God by sharing the Mystery of the Holy Trinity, the Love of the Father, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and our Devotion to Our Lady, the Mother of God, with all of God’s people.”

The Mission Statement will be submitted to Bishop Galante for approval. If you have any questions or comments about the merger of our four parishes, please contact Father Ariel or a member of the Core Team. We thank you for your prayers and support as we move through this process.

Stewardship Reflection

Searching for Stewardship

“He said to the gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none’” (Luke 13:7a)

Are we like the barren fig tree? What does God find when He searches for the fruits of our stewardship on earth?

*******************************

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10)

*******************************

We know from the Bible that everything we have is a gift from God. We are stewards-managers of the many gifts God has given to us. As Christian stewards, we recognize that all that we are-all that we have-belongs to God, and we are accountable to Him for the use of all things. Therefore, we must live and give as Christians, generously sharing our God-given gifts of time, talent and treasure.

HERE you will find a list of our many parish ministries and activities. So many of you are using your gifts and sharing them with the larger community. This is what it means to be a CHURCH. This is what makes us a parish.

Please take the time to prayerfully reflect on how you have been gifted by God and how you may become a more effective disciple of the Lord by sharing the gifts given to you.

God bless!
