While the parents are primary religious educators of their children, the child’s faith life is nourished and enriched within the context of the parish community.
It is our philosophy to develop, from birth to death, Christians who are steeped in a spirit of prayer centered in the Eucharist, appreciative of the Sacramental life of the Church and committed to their call to be responsible apostolic Christians.
Throughout the Religious Education process, parents assist their children by word and by example as they progress in understanding their faith.
The sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation are proceeded by a two-year period of preparation. Each grade level reinforces the sacraments in a level the child will understand. The sacrament of Reconciliation and First Eucharist is received in the Second Grade. The sacrament of Confirmation is received in the fall of the child’s Ninth Grade year.
