What is RCIA? The RCIA is a faith journey designed to help adults get in touch with Christ in their lives, and to initiate them into living life in Christ, as a member of the faith community that is the Church. It is a learning and loving process in which conversion of the heart brings you to Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior. “Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
Implemented by the Second Vatican Council in 1974, RCIA returns to the process of initiation adults used by the early Church. It includes the same stages, celebrations, and liturgical rites used in the Church’s first centuries. If you would like to know more about RCIA, or to find out more about assisting in the RICA program at Immaculate Conception, please call the Rectory.
